Description and usage
S.A.I.C.I.’s STMD turbomixers are specifically designed to treat bentonite muds used in drilling and excavating operations. Compared to STM series, the STMD are equipped with a soundproof diesel motor. These turbomixers are built around a cylindrical steel tank on a solid frame. During treatment the mud is mixed by a high-speed vortex produced by a special pump. The pump draws the muds from the bottom of the tank and then sends them back tangentially into the tank which is shaped in order to get highest efficiency. Through a valve the pump carries the mud to the storage tank or to where it is being used. The process produces a homogeneous, high-quality colloidal mixture in a short time.
